Joanne is a psychologist with a special interest in applying positive psychology and neuropsychotherapy principles in both her clinical practice and training workshops. Joanne is passionate about her work and feels privileged to share in the journey of others towards a more meaningful future. She has over 22 years’ experience working with individuals, children, adolescents and families across a range of disciplines.

Joanne believes that every person has strengths and is unique, these unique strengths will help an individual overcome their difficulties. Joanne provides a client focused service to enable people to reach their full potential utilising a range of therapeutic approaches including positive psychology, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), interpersonal psychotherapy, solution focused brief therapy, narrative therapy, art and play therapy. She has provided training within, schools and community settings in the areas of understanding and managing depression, group workshops for anxiety and suicide prevention.
Joanne maintains her private practice, and is also contracted to provide psychological services by the Division of GPs through GP Down South and My Way (NDIS) - Helping children with Autism.
Prior to private practice Joanne worked as a psychologist at Child and Adolescent Mental Health (Busselton Hospital) an adolescent service (Youth Focus) with adolescents and their families experiencing early signs of depression, self-harm and suicidal ideation and Headspace In Bunbury. She has also worked within a number of other settings in the community counselling adults and children in the areas of depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting, stress management, behaviour management and more recently working with families and children with autism.
A GP referral is not required however you can check with your GP to see if you may be eligible for a Medicare Rebate. Please check with your Private Health Fund as some health fund rebates also apply.
Fully registered with the Psychologists Board of WA (AHPRA).
